TRAIN
Wag Club believes that training is an excellent way to bond with your dog! That's why we offer both Puppy Socials and Group Classes here through our partners - DOGBOY NYC! Robert and Jacklyn have been helping NYC pups develop into well-adjusted, well-socialized members of our urban society for more years than we can count on all four paws. Classes include Puppy Socialization, Basic Obedience & Manners, Intermediate Obedience, Introduction to Agility, Tricks, and Introduction to Scent Work. We encourage all of our fellow humans to invest in their dog’s future with obedience training. Although it is critical to start training as puppies, you CAN teach an old dog new tricks! With hands on training and professional support, your dog can become a calm and confident member of your family!

WHY DOGBOY NYC?
Dogboy was co-founded by Robert Haussmann, a Certified Professional Dog Trainer Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA). Robert is a member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers and the International Association of Animal Behavior Counselors. Jacklyn Knutson (CPDT-KA) joined the Dogboy team in 2017 and is accredited under the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers. Their aim is to provide real results through expert behavioral coaching by applying kind, approachable, and humane principles to alleviate canine and human stress. But besides all of that, they are genuinely good and decent human beings. Both Robert and Jacklyn share our love and passion for the canine community. They want the best for your dog and your family, and we believe in their work and their knowledge. They have been known to go above and beyond to try and help dogs in need - including some of the Wag Club staff's pups! They are not only our partners, but really our Wag Club extended family.
WHY GROUP CLASSES?
Group training is a fantastic way to work on obedience skills and learn how to interact with other dogs. It also helps city dogs practice useful tools while working in an environment that allows for controlled distractions. Classes are organized to focus on communication, socialization, and humane training techniques. They are also designed to allow time for humans to ask questions and exchange information with their fellow two-legged friends. After all, it takes a village!

WHY DO PUPS NEED TO SOCIALIZE?
Puppies go through a stage of social development that ends between 12 – 16 weeks. During this time, it is critical to expose them to as many social situations as possible. Our Puppy Social Pods are the perfect opportunity for pups to practice their social skills. They will learn how to elicit and end play, how to use their mouths, and how to safely get along with other members of their own species.
